Bardia has beautiful nature that needs to be preserved. The forest walk was very nice! We nearly know the tiger was there for we smell him, and saw his big fresh footprints in the waster!! We were lucky to join the party with santas house party.Lovely house and good dancer !
The birding was nice padam and santa are real bird watcher, They see every bird even before our great bird watcher Ramesh The people and culture have impressed us, such as friendly people. Many thanks we will send you the photographs

TUESDAY 22 NOVEMBER 2005 - SATURDAY 26TH NOVEMBER 2005
NAMASTE.
WELL ALTHOUGH I VISITED THE ROYAL BARDIA NATIONAL PARK IN 2005, IT IS AS FRESH IN MY MIND TODAY AS IF IT WAS YESTERDAY.
WE WERE MET WITH A WARM WELCOME FROM MOHAN, AND WENT ON TO HAVE A GREAT TIME WITH PADAM AND SANTOSH, WE HAD A REAL GOOD TIME.
THE FIRST DAY PADAM TOOK US ON A SMALL INTRODUCTORY WALK AND WE SAW HIS HOME , IT WAS INCREDIBLY WARM, AND HE MADE US VERY WELCOME.
ON OUR FIRST DAY WENT RAFTING DOWN THE KARNALI RIVER WITH PADAM AND MADHU, WE SAW MANY ANIMALS AND AT THE END OF THE JOURNEY WE SAW THE ELEPHANT GARAGE 10 ELEPHANT'S YOUNG AND OLD, INCREDIBLE.
WITH US ON THIS JOURNEY WAS MY GUIDE NIRMA RAI FROM THE 3 SISTERS ADVENTURE TREKKING COMPANY IN POKHARA AND MAT FROM CANADA I DONT HAVE HIS EMAIL ADDRESS BUT WOULD LIKE IT IF HE SEE'S THIS TO EMAIL ME.
AFTER THE RAFTING SANTOSH MET US WITH THE JEEP AND TOOK US BACK TO THE HIDEAWAY.
THE SECOND DAY WE WENT ON ELEPHANT RIDE FOR 3 HOURS IT WAS FANTASTIC.
ON THE FRIDAY NIRMA WENT BACK TO POKHARA ON THE BUS BUT WE WERE TO MEET HER AGAIN IN KATHMANDU WHEN SHE CAME FOR HER ROCK CLIMBING COURSE, ON THE 30TH NOVEMBER.
SO OUR LAST DAY WE WENT ON JEEP SAFARI, SANTOSH AND I GOT STUCK IN A TREE AND A HERD OF 10 OR MORE WILD ELEPHANTS WERE COMING TOWARDS US, WHEN WE GOT OUT HE TREE WE RAN BACK TO THE JEEP !
I WAS LAUGHING SO MUCH I COULD HARDLY RUN.
SANTOSH IS VERY FUNNY.
FANTASTIC TIME HAD BY ALL, THE FOOD WAS AMAZING, THE THARU STYLE COTTAGES ARE VERY COMFORTABLE AND I LOVE THE DOOR BELLS MAKING ANIMALS NOISES.
WHAT A PEACEFUL PLACE AFTER TREKKING AND KATHMANDU, I FELT SO AT HOME THERE.
I MISS YOU ALL AT THE FOREST HIDEAWAY, AND I LOVE PADAM IT WAS HARD TO LEAVE AND I FELT SAD THE DAY WE LEFT HE HELD MY HAND IN OUR PHOTO AND THAT WILL STAY WITH ME FOREVER.
I HOPE ON DAY WE WILL ALL MEET AGAIN.
I SAW MANY ANIMALS AND IT WOULD TAKE UP TO MUCH SPACE TO WRITE THEM ALL, MY FAVOURITE WAS THE BABY RHINO WE SAW ON THE ELEPHANT RIDE.
WHEN I RETURN I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A TIGER AND THE GANGETIC DOLPHINS, THE CROCODILE WE SAW WHEN RAFTING WAS A BIT SCARY I THOUGH I WAS GOING TO GET EATEN !

We have had a magical time here in Bardia… Everyone at forest hideaway has been to friendly and welcoming- we are been spoil often! The food was delicious, plentiful and interesting – the Dal Bhat was absolutely excellent. We loved our Tharu- style cottage which was so comfortable and well suited to all our needs. It was fascinating to visit the village and see how the local people live- and to have our first taste of Roxi (sp ? ) we have been some amazing wildlife; deer, wild boar, rhinos, Monkeys, crocodiles… and a whole plethora of birds. The highlight of our visit was a sighting of a wild bull elephant our guides were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. A big thank you to Mohan Aryal and all the team for making our visit to special !
Best wishes to you all,
Clare and peter

The three of us came to have a rest and relax and we had a WONDERFUL TIME THANK YOU so much!
It is a beautiful place here- like an oasis!
The walks through the jungle guided by good guides who protected us from wild elephants and (eating ) rhinos. The run from this rhino we heald gave us a teal feeling of adventure!

Thank you for a nice stay and for two wonderful safaris which showed us a good variety of animals. The highlight was the gharial crocodile and the three otters. We saw on the rafting trip.
Another adrenalin kick was the elephant ride, which is the end turn in to a hair rising flight from no less then three big male elephants across the river very interesting.
The atmosphere in the resort with its beautifull gardens has also been great.
Walking in the jungle with the knowledge that tigers and rhinos roan and around near by each simply out standing. When you see tiger foot print half eaten tiger lunch and marsh muggers sun bathing on the river bank.
You really feel alive and glad. You are still alive.
The guides are very professionals so I really recommend this place and hope to come back.
Best regards
Peter & Maria.

We had a truly wonderful time here at forest hideaway. Considering our early arrival in the season, we saw a wide diversity of animal, but unfortunately no tiger, our priamary goal. So we need to come again….. that will be nice.
Everyone was so frandly and helpful…nothing too much trouble.
Recently we have to leave now for chitwan, but we will remember our stay for a seeing wild elephant, rhino, python, deers and many birds.
